About fifteen minutes the first time. You install one font, import the scenes, and add the controller as a dock. After that every broadcast runs from the controller.
OBS Studio 28 or newer. Older versions have no Docks menu for web pages.
Unzip the package anywhere you like. Right click the zip, Extract All, pick a folder, press Extract. Then open this page from that folder, not from inside the zip.
Save your current setup first. In OBS: Scene Collection, Export. Nothing below deletes it, but it is good to have.
1 Install the title font
Open the Fonts folder in the package and unzip nasalization.zip.
Double click Nasalization Rg.otf and press Install. If you can, right click it and choose Install for all users instead.
Close OBS and open it again so the screens can see the font.
Teko, the other PSL font, is built into the screens, so there is nothing to install for it. The Nasalization licence lets you install it on your PC but not put it on a web page, so the screens use your installed copy.
2 Import the scenes
Quick way: the package folder already has PSL_Scene_Collection.json. In OBS open Scene Collection, then Import, press the ... button and pick that file from inside the package folder. OBS fills in the folder for you. Then open Scene Collection again and choose PSL Package.
Screens black after that? Make a file for your exact folder with the button below and import that one instead.
Moved the folder, or the address above is wrong?
Type it, then press Make my OBS scene file again.
The button saves PSL_Scene_Collection.json to your Downloads.
In OBS open Scene Collection, then Import. Press the ... button and pick that file. Make sure it is ticked, then press Import.
Open Scene Collection again and choose PSL Package.
Imported an older one that shows black screens? Switch to it, press Scene Collection, Remove, then import the new file.
You get every scene the controller talks about, in the order of a broadcast: Starting Soon, Intro Video, Caster Desk, Match Up, Head to Head, Picks and Bans, Draft Recap, In Game, In Game Live Scorebug, Post Game Stats (game capture), Post Game Stats Board (screenshot reader), Victory, Interview, Be right back, Series Tracker, Bracket, Schedule, the three Podcast scenes and ty for watching. Made your scene file before the Match Up, Draft Recap, Interview, Schedule, Series Tracker, Head to Head and Bracket came along? Make a new one and import it, then remove the old collection. The Smite 2 game capture, Discord audio, the Reactive cams and both music tracks are carried over. Every overlay is now one browser source per screen, filled in from the controller.
Screens that never move shut down while hidden and all screens run at 30 fps, so OBS only works on the scene you are showing.
3 Add the controller as a dock
In OBS open the Docks menu (in some versions it is under View, then Docks) and choose Custom Browser Docks.
Type PSL Controller in Dock Name.
Paste this in URL:
http://absolute/C:/PSL-Package/controller.html
Press Apply and close the window. Drag the dock where you want it, or pop it out onto a second monitor.
The address above is the easy way. A plain path to controller.html works too, like C:\Users\You\Desktop\PSL-Package\controller.html (leave out any " marks): when the dock opens inside OBS it moves itself to the right address, so it shares its settings with the screens.
4 Check the link
Look at the top of the controller. It says how many screens are open.
Click Caster Desk in OBS. The count should go up.
Type a team name in the controller. It should show on the Caster Desk straight away.
If the count stays at "No screens open" or the names do not change, go to Plan B.
Cams: every scene with cam windows (Caster Desk, Picks and Bans, the stats board and the Podcast scenes) has empty browser sources called Cam 1 (VDO) to Cam 4 (VDO) under the Reactive avatars, already sized to the windows. Double click one, paste the VDO.Ninja view link in URL and press OK; the same source fills every scene it is in. They start muted because the voices come through Discord. Not using VDO? Hide them with the eye.
5 Every broadcast
The controller runs top to bottom in the order of a broadcast: set up, then Starting Soon, intro video, Caster Desk, sponsors and info, match up (Head to Head), picks and bans, in game, post game, and Be Right Back with the Series Tracker. Picks and bans to Be Right Back repeat for every game. Then the bracket, extra stuff and Thanks for Watching. The OBS scenes are in the same order. The step buttons at the top jump to a step, and the step OBS is showing is marked ON AIR.
MATCH: teams, tags, scores, series, week and division. Logos are optional: pick any picture and it is trimmed and fitted for you. Teams are remembered with their tag, logo and roster. When a game ends press Order won this game or Chaos won this game: it adds to the score, sets the Post Game winner and marks the Series Tracker. Swap sides flips everything left to right. New series starts again from 0 to 0. Next match from the bracket puts the result in the bracket and loads the next two teams.
CASTERS: the names under the cams, and an optional handle with a Twitch, YouTube, X or TikTok logo beside it on the Caster Desk.
STARTING SOON: the big text and the start time in 24 hour time, like 19:00. It counts down using this PC's clock.
SERIES TRACKER and HEAD TO HEAD: the series tracker fills itself from the won buttons and the draft. The head to head card fills itself from MATCH and the rosters in DRAFT, so there is nothing to type for it.
SPONSORS: add sponsor logos for a strip along the bottom of Starting Soon and the top of Be Right Back.
QR CODE: paste the link. The code is drawn on your PC, so it never expires. Make the Discord invite permanent: in Discord press the server name, Invite People, Edit invite link, set Expire After to Never and Max Number of Uses to No limit, then paste that link.
DRAFT: type a god and press Enter. It goes into the next slot in draft order. Undo last takes one back. When a game ends press Game done: save picks to Fearless, which saves the picks for the next game and clears the draft. Rosters are typed once per team and remembered.
IN GAME: a caster card that slides onto the game. Fill it with the casters or the match, pick top, left or bottom, and switch it on or off. Every spot stays clear of the game's own minimap, team lists, gold and stats table.
MATCH UP: the title only. The Match Up scene shows both teams big with their logos and the series; Head to Head is the one with the rosters.
DRAFT RECAP SCENE (in DRAFT): always show, show once all ten picks are in, or hide. Play it again replays the entrance.
INTERVIEW: the player's name and a line under it. The Interview scene uses Cam 1 (VDO) as the big cam.
SCHEDULE: up to six matches with a time, or both scores for FINAL; tick Live for the one on air. Put this match in row 1 fills the first row.
POST GAME: the big word and the winner. The Victory scene uses them too: switch to it after a game and it plays on its own, or press Replay the victory animation.
POST GAME STATS BOARD (screenshot reader): there are two post game scenes. Post Game Stats (game capture) is the game's own end screen in the PSL frame, nothing to fill in. Post Game Stats Board (screenshot reader) is a stats table made from screenshots: stay in the post game lobby, screenshot the scoreboard page and the stats page, paste them into the POST GAME STATS BOARD box, check the numbers and press Show the stats on stream. Until then that scene shows the casters, like the Caster Desk, and the line at the top of the POST GAME STATS BOARD box in the controller says whether it is waiting for screenshots, ready or on stream.
BRACKET (step 10): pick a format, type the teams under TEAMS (SEED ORDER) and the scores, and the Bracket screen draws it. Teams you used before bring their logo and tag. Made the bracket on smiteprod.com/bracket, or imported it there from Challonge? Make a live link there and paste it under Bring in a bracket; tick Keep following it and results typed on the site show up too.
PODCAST CAMS and BE RIGHT BACK: titles, names and the note.
6 Performance mode
The switch at the top of the controller. It turns off the particles, glows, scrolling text and the draft screen's light effects on every screen at once. Turn it on if the stream drops frames or the PC is also running the game.
7 Live scorebug OPTIONAL ยท EXPERIMENTAL
Reads the timer, kills, gold and Gold Fury off your game capture and redraws the game's top bar in PSL colors. It is new, so keep the normal In Game scorebug as your main one.
In OBS open Tools, WebSocket Server Settings and tick Enable WebSocket server. Press Show Connect Info and copy the password.
In the controller open LIVE SCOREBUG, tick I'm using the screen reading scorebug, paste the password and press Connect. Pick Smite2 as the game source if it asks.
Go to the In Game Live Scorebug scene instead of In Game while you use it. It is the game with the live scorebug on top. Use one or the other, not both.
If a number reads wrong, the Teach box in that section fixes it. It needs step 4 working, because it does not use the backup link.
Plan B: backup link
Some OBS setups keep the dock apart from the screens. The controller has a backup that sends your changes through smiteprod.com instead. It is on by default under OBS SETUP and needs internet.
In the dock, under OBS SETUP, press Download the OBS scene collection. That file has the dock's backup code in every screen address.
Import that file as in step 2 and switch to it.
If the dock does not save a file, open controller.html from the package in Chrome or Edge instead, download the scene collection from there, import it, and run the broadcast from that browser window. Remove the dock so there is only one controller.
Fixes
Titles look plain or blocky.
Nasalization is not installed, or OBS was open when you installed it. Do step 1 again and restart OBS.
Screens are black or flash white.
OBS is looking in a different folder than the one the package is in. Open OBS_GUIDE.html from the package folder, press Make my OBS scene file and import that file, as in step 2. Do the same if you ever move the folder.
A screen did not update.
Right click its source and press Refresh. If no screen updates, see Plan B.
No sound on god picks.
Turn on God voice line when a pick locks in the DRAFT box. The sound plays through the PSL Draft source in OBS.
Cams are blank on the Caster Desk.
The Reactive sources are the links from your old setup. Check they are still the right ones. For video, paste your VDO.Ninja links into Cam 1 (VDO) and Cam 2 (VDO).
